Pu-erh, Pu'er tea, Puer tea or Bolay tea is a type of tea made from a "large leaf" variety of the tea plant Camellia sinensis and named after Pu'er county near Simao, Yunnan, China. Puer is the town where the trade of the tea happened. Pu'er tea is a post-fermented tea, with a "longevity tea" reputation, also known as the "drinkable antique", long-term storage, the more fragrant. Fermentation is a tea production style in which the tea leaves undergo microbial fermentation and oxidation after they are dried and rolled. All types of puer can be stored to mature before consumption, which is why it is commonly labelled with year and region of production. Through careful processing, these leaves, full of the vitality and character of the very
mountains they grew upon, are transformed into Puer Tea: visceral, unique, and elegant.
Function:
